- My name is Maureen Leary-I'm a photographer who specializes in children's portraiture. All my life I have loved pictures, and loved taking pictures-dabbling here and there. But 5 years ago, my daughter Ava was born and I started to get serious! I wanted "those" pictures-you know the ones-where you can see through the child's eyes into their soul? Or the ones that capture a totally unexpected look? Or ones where her personality shows through? So...I got serious. Ok...I got obsessed! If you are someone who loves the "typical portrait" of your child-plunked on a stool in front of a backdrop with a fake smile on their face-I am not the photographer for you. If you want someone who captures the essence of your child at a moment in time, take some timeto look through my work. I really believe that the best moments aren't neccessarily posed. Life happens in between the poses. I create my pictures to not only show what your child looks like, but who they are!
